Welcome to KPS Maritime
In 2007 we continue to see progress in the commercial market with many importers keen to bring their boats to Australia in compliance with our regulations. This is fantastic news as it means that not only will all of the vessels be built to standards and practices accepted by Queensland Transport but it also ensures that once they have arrived to Australia, we can hit the ground running when it comes time for applications to be made for Commercial Registration or Certificate of Survey. In particular there has been great interest from overseas builders in relation to the Legislative requirements for electrical systems and appliances for vessels sold in Queensland. We have been happy to assist several builders, namely the Brunswick Group and Pursuit Boats with these issues. Our surveyors are traveling all over the globe to oversee construction by some of the most prominent boat builders in the marine industry. Taiwan, the USA and the UK are just a few of the countries we'll be visiting on a regular basis this year.

KPS has recently completed the task of surveying for the production of a new Hatteras 68 Convertible and presently completing a 105’ motor yacht. KPS was been given the opportunity to provide services such as design, stability calculations and structural, safety and electrical surveys for compliance for the new builds. A new 100 cockpit motor yacht starts production in August 2007. KPS Maritime is carrying out certification work to provide a ‘Type Approval’ before the vessel heads off to the Middle East.

We are currently carrying out all the required inspections for both the 77 and 58 models under construction in Taiwan. These projects have been underway since 2006 and KPS has inspected the vessels at various stages of construction, assessed the vessels structure and is providing all the required design and survey compliances required for the vessel to be entered into Commercial Registration in Australia. Our Electrical surveyor is visiting the factory in July and our Structural surveyor in August, prior to the vessels arriving in Australia later in the year, when all remaining assessments will be completed.

We are presently awaiting the arrival of a new Squadron 68 which will enter commercial service in Port Douglas in early 2008. This is the third Fairline for this owner and replaces the previously successful Squadron 55 which is relocating to Melbourne.
